Latest Releases:
Latest and Continued Releases
This page is presented to allow you to download the latest supported AbiWord, ours and that of active distributions. You will find links to Stable builds, Developers' builds and CVS Snapshots. This page is nolonger comprehensive to all binaries and release notes that ever existed, but, instead, tracks those which remain of interest to the general public.
Duplicate entries are due to appearances at both SourceForge and Savannah. Tables done by hand; please report errors. I don't have sufficient information to be percise about older releases.
With the formalities out of the way, you might find what you're looking for here:

*AbiWord 1.0.7: Made available for those who can not move to or have troubles with the new stable series, 2.0. Some packages are just the last of the 1.0 series built for the target system.
*Windows*: This is a post 1.0.7 release with the ability to work with Psion Word documents. This will work with regular 1.0.7 plugins.
*MacOSX*: This is where I learned the true meaning of CVS. I'm guessing Frank or Hub did this little updating (a total shock to me, I might add). Two things for you the user to note. First, this is a 1.0.6 -based release. Second, in case it might be an issue, it is built on a Jaguar system (I'm guessing by name, mind you) (it's still X!).
*QNX: I know very little about the QNX package system which comes down to a question Johan Björk answered for me, but I've since forgotten. Also notice this is 1.0.2, not 1.0.7.
*BeOS: I know even less about BeOS's anything! This link goes somewhere, I have faith in Mark on that much!
*AbiWord 2.0.0: No Windows for the big 2.0. I'm not sure if this doesn't bode well for AbiWord or Gnome Office, but I'm sure it'll be straightened out...probably by tomorrow with my luck.
*RedHat9 (all): The marked builds may require additional libraries or applications to be installed. Luckily for you, Rui cared enough to provide them.
*SUSE8.2: First, you'll note I've already adopted to the silly nomenclature change. Second, binaries/executables are targetted for x586 machines. If you have a lower architecture system or need to specialise, you should go with the source instead.
*SUSE9.0: First, you'll note this is James' transitionary period between the two SUSE's. Second, binaries/executables are targetted for x586 machines. If you have a lower architecture system or need to specialise, you should go with the source instead.
*LibGSF: This is an official and independent release. I've added it because I was told it was quite a bit of hunting to do on your own, and the installation (specifically for RH systems) require it.
*FriBiDi: This is an official and independent release. I've added it because I was told it was quite a bit of hunting to do on your own, and the installation (specifically for RH systems) require it. I linked to the release notes just because they were there.
*Aiksaurus: This is an official and independent release. I've added it because I was told it was quite a bit of hunting to do on your own, and the installation (specifically for RH systems) require it. Outside of Abi's CVS, I am unaware if this is being maintained and built.
*Open Text Summarizer*: Binaries or executables are targetted for x686 machines. If you have a lower architecture system or need to specialise, you should go with the source instead.
The Developers' Release
Here are links to the latest developers' release of AbiWord.
In an effort to save time, even though it'll make things horribly wrong, I just replaced 1.99.3 with 1.99.6. Just email me if something goes horribly wrong! Otherwise, I'll leave this here until 2.0.1 comes out, even though the columns and descriptions nolonger match ^_^
Packages are listed by OS (Linux Distros equally separated) then file type.

| OS | Options | Type | Hardware | File |
| Win32 | --- | Installer | PC/x86 | setup_abiword.exe |
*AbiWord pre-2.0.1: As is made obvious, this exists for the Win Binary of the Week. Obviously, this won't be necessary for long.
CVS Snapshot Builds
Finally, these are the snapshot builds (e.g. tinderbox, nightly builds, etc) for a subset of the supported architectures/operating systems. Note that the snapshot builds may not work (at all!), but are likely to include more features and have fewer of the reported bugs than (older) official releases. Use the official releases for production systems (where you DON'T want to risk crashes and funkiness), and the snapshot builds for testing and when you want to help with Bug Triage.
